They’re still at it.
If you’ve been following the ongoing Anna Leigh Waters (“ALW”) versus Hayden Patriquin saga, the latest chapter did not disappoint.
When most pickleball players clip a net cord and get a lucky winner, they usually raise a hand in apology.
Not Hayden.
He dances.
And ALW, never one to let anything slide, chirps right back.
The result? More entertaining on-court theatre from two of pickleball’s biggest personalities, this time during the recent Major League Pickleball showdown between the New Jersey 5s and the St. Louis Shock. The rivalry between the two has been simmering ever since their heated exchange at MLP Orlando in 2025, and it doesn’t look like either player is interested in turning the temperature down anytime soon.
Love it or hate it, professional pickleball could use a little personality. And when ALW and Hayden share a court, there always seems to be a chance that something interesting will happen.
